Review on Walker 81978 CalCat Catalytic Converter by Hikeboy Ramey
Fixed code P0420 on a 1996 Tacoma 2.7, installed this cat, passed California smog test
Self install to fix DTC P0420. Prior to this repair, I took my 1996 Tacoma DLX 4x4 5 Speed 2.7L 4 Cylinder 3RZ-FE to my trusted mechanic to have the fuel trim and O2 sensor checked. Then I bought this part, Toyota OEM gaskets and new grade 10.9 fasteners and it happened. I have a smartphone based OBDII device handy, I used it to clear the code after tightening the last bolt, then drove 50 miles on the freeway to a smog-only test station and passed .
