I was looking for a hand mixer and seriously considered Cuisinart or Kitchen Aid. I wanted a blender that had both lots of power and a controllable slow speed. Based on reviews of both models, there was either too much power to throw dough all over the place, or there was not enough power. One review mentioned a Braun hand blender and to my surprise 95% of the reviews gave it a 4 or 5, which is rare. So I bought this device and was very satisfied. It is equipped with a 350W motor and a rotary controller to control the speed from slow to turbo. There is a safety feature built in so the power switch will not move to the "on" position if the mixing blades are incorrectly or not installed. Another feature my wife loves is that the blender can be placed back on the base with the blades in a horizontal position when a short break in blending is required. This is a very good hand mixer made in Germany.
