So far it's working fine!

Updated August 2020: We've had them since February and they're still working fine. Our dog seems to understand that he can stand on hot pavement and not have to frantically search for a spot in the shade. I bought them after speaking to a woman whose service dog wore shoes. Anyone with a dog who needs to walk across a hot parking lot (or a hot sidewalk) should consider some sort of dog shoe, boot, or sock for the purpose. I never gave it much thought, but now I put my hand on the sidewalk and if I get uncomfortably hot, it's probably too hot for the dog. Original review (February 2020): We bought these for hot summer asphalt. , and in the video our dog has been trying it for the third day. At first he made funny "high steps" but he got used to it. I'm sure they still look weird to him, but he seems to wear them well. The fit seems good (it weighs 48lbs and we bought a size 6) and choosing the size is the hardest part. If the shoe is too big, the dog is likely to trip over it, but of course you don't want it to be too small. The method mentioned on the website (tracing a paw and measuring with a tape measure) worked well. Our dog has dewclaws and the shoes don't seem to bother her, but so far he has only worn the shoes for short runs. At the moment we are very satisfied with the quality of the shoes and that our dog tolerates them well.
