I can't say these shoes are too snug, but they are very snug and run a bit small with socks . As they are described in the photos as worn without socks, I have to admit that they fit perfectly. Keep in mind that if you want to wear them with socks, they might run a bit small. Removable insoles are thick and comfortable. This is the most important plus for me. The sole is non-slip. The upper has a synthetic feel and is too shiny to be natural leather - it looks like "patent leather" and has an accompanying smell. The smell dissipates quickly. They don't require any break-in time, which is another big plus. The only complaint I have is that they don't breathe and I suspect they might make you uncomfortable on a hot day in the sun. However, I am happy with the price.
