This switch is light enough to attach to my portable foldable desk. This switch was purchased to automatically turn on my small shop's vacuum system when I'm using a miter saw. If I forget that, the result is a mess and I have to spend several minutes cleaning up. Neither fun nor productive. I can also use these portable tools like an orbital sander and a planer, basically anything with a vacuum port. This dual output surge protector works absolutely perfectly, turning the vacuum on every time I use any of the connected devices. Since both devices can generate power surges, it is very convenient to be able to delay the onset of vacuum while the tool overcomes the power surge. Similarly, this device also features a vacuum turn-off delay. This allows the vacuum cleaner to run for up to 30 seconds after the tool turns off to complete the "cleaning" after the tool stops. Finally, the device has well-marked buttons for manually turning the vacuum on and off when needed. I have the option of attaching a zip tie or using the included white tape for a portable desktop. If I buy another one I can use the top and bottom keyholes to mount it under a wood workbench or on a wall in my shop.
