Review on Stanley Camp Pour Hammertone Green by Christina Potter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good camping coffee filter

Although this filter may seem a little expensive at first glance, Stanley make very strong and durable products so you get what you pay for. This coffee set is really good and I love its simple and very functional design. In fact, the whole set consists of just two parts: a top funnel with a micro-sieve that actually contains the ground coffee, and a matching mug that sits under the funnel and collects the finished coffee inside. (Actually you can use any coffee mug or jar to put the filter on, but this set only includes one of Stanley's regular 12oz mugs with a matching HDPE lid for you, so whatever you pay basically, it's just a filter funnel) You literally just pour water into the top filter funnel with a grind, and it does the rest. On the box it's recommended to pour the water outwards in a circular motion, but actually there's no special technique You can just casually pour the water. The only important point is that your water you use for brewing must be BOILING, otherwise by the time it stops dripping into the cup it will be so cold that the cup will be lukewarm. 12 ounces. The mug itself is probably strong enough to sit directly on a heated convection surface like a flat pan to reheat harvested coffee that way, but I haven't tried it. Just remember to use well boiling water. In terms of cleaning and care, the set is definitely dishwasher safe, but wiping down after each use is probably not necessary. In most cases, a simple, thorough rinse with hot water will suffice. Great coffee set that makes a very tasty coffee with a less muted flavor due to the lack of paper filters and I don't see how it could be simpler. Very suitable for outdoor use, but can be used indoors as well. Get one.
