I wanted to wait a little before writing a review so that I could give a good and honest review. I have had many small aquariums as well as a few large ones and this aquarium is by far the BEST I have ever had. I got it for my betta fish alpha who seemed overwhelmed by his smaller betta fish and despite my best efforts to prevent it started to develop fin rot. I've had this tank for 2 weeks now and in that time my betta has almost completely recovered from the tail rot. He is so happy and swims all day instead of just sitting in the corner. Because the BiOrb is curved, my Betta can't see my reflection, so I never worry about mirror syndrome, and instead of looking for that 'other fish', he's looking for me :) Other reviewers point out that the airflow is too strong for that True, but if you compress the airflow enough, you still have enough airflow for the BiOrb to do its job without your betta swimming against the tide. I clamped the tubing and then taped it to the back of the balloon to allow the air to flow. BioOrb does an excellent job of keeping the aquarium clean and fresh. To make this process even easier I purchased Marimo Moss balls which I found a little useless at first but not only do they provide excellent coverage for my betta they also help to preserve the environment at BiOrb. Within 30 minutes of putting them in my tank they started producing bubbles of oxygen and since I pinched the hose I didn't have to worry about not having enough oxygen for my fish or plant debris as the Marimo Balls do not produce. I also went to BiOrb's website and bought jewelry that is sold specifically for BiOrb. The decorations are a bit more expensive but the quality is worth it and once you have a decoration this quality you will never settle for those cheap petsmart decorations again. I think my only issue with BiOrb is that it forces you to buy more. for him, and it's already expensive. I think it's worth having such a good tank. It doesn't come with decorations, which isn't a big deal, but they only give you 1lb of ceramic material to filter and grow bacteria on the floor. It provides very little coverage for the bottom of the tank and not enough to weigh down lighter jewelry. I bought 2 more 1lb ceramic material bags and only needed one. All in all, including the tank, BiOrb decor, and Marimo moss balloons, I spent $180. It's a bit pricey but I don't think I'll ever need to buy another tank again. Maybe a big BiOrb for the future when I want more fish again. This is a link to their online shop[.]
