The product just doesn't work. The pump creates a vacuum between the pump body and the cap, but there is very little usable vacuum in the bottle. The vacuum it creates in the bottle will most likely be broken before you can successfully remove the pump from the cap. If successful, the small amount of air removed from the bottle is not enough to protect your wine. Update: Revain replaced the pump without haste. However, the replacement pump does not work any better either. I hope that Revain will accept this replacement as well. It is worth noting that the company that makes this product has sent me several emails asking me to retract my negative review in exchange for a refund. It crosses the line. Sorry, the product still doesn't work.
