This was purchased to connect my 11" MacBook Air (Early 2015) to a 4K monitor (QNIX UHD3216R). Initially I had some trouble displaying anything over QHD/1440p (2560x1440) on the monitor; I thought there was something wrong with this cable, but it turned out not to be. I finished updating my MacBook to macOS Sierra and the issue was resolved. I can now reliably use my external monitor in 4K resolution (3840x2160) and not only with it, but also with 60Hz (see image). Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would buy this cable again if needed.
