This is a present for our niece. She used to have hair chalk, but not of this quality. The colors are varied and match the color. They appear on the hair with a light shade. It even colors darker hair very well. It easily washes off the fabric. She happily added color to her hair, my, her mom, uncle and little brothers lol dad wouldn't cooperate :) and we all could see our hair color clearly. The hair color ranged from dark brown to very light blonde. The colored brushes fit well in the child's hand and are as easy to use as a normal comb or brush. She has used them several times and they are holding up very well; doesn't crumble and doesn't seem to consume much. I expect they will last for several months at least with weekly use. I would like to point out that if she had very light blonde hair like her little brother and very light grey/silver hair like her grandma, it would take two shampoos to completely remove the colour. Ease of use, color choices and brightness. I would recommend this set to anyone looking to add color to their hair temporarily; regardless of their age. I have several 20 year olds who report to work with me and regularly have various brightly colored strands in their hair. I recommended them and 2 girls bought them and love them. If our niece is still interested in dying her hair I would buy her another set if this time the 1st easily runs out.
