Well this is my first nice square. I have always used store bought squares but since my woodworking changed I wanted a nicer one. It's very difficult for me to get a ruler in a pen, as well as other attachments. The threads feel like sand on it, but after brushing with a steel brush and graphite, they are smoother. It's definitely heavy and well made. My big gripe with this is that when I have a square page, say left, the 1" mark on the outside edge is down. If I rotate it to the right, the 1 inch mark is at the top, so I have to do the math back. All of my other less expensive squares have the 1 inch mark on the bottom left and right. If I had noticed that before using it, I would have sent it back. Unsatisfied! Nonetheless. Square to check the squareness of the squares in my box store and use them. I have to give it 3 stars for the quality and that it comes with specs. Can't say if I recommend it or not. I wouldn't buy it again but then again it will spend the rest of its life mostly in its case.
