Extremely dark display, error in the manual

After installing the head unit, I had to send it back because of the extremely dark display. If you check other reviewers, this is a common complaint. There is no way to adjust the dimming. Most head units have a wire that automatically adjusts the contrast when the headlights are turned on (similar to an adaptive brightness control), but Aigoss doesn't have a connector for that. For the price I guess you get what you pay for. The keys feel very thin and chunky. I like that the grip was big compared to the whole block. Another issue was that the wiring diagram in the included instructions (very basic) contained an error regarding the speaker wire configuration. When you receive this stereo, ignore the instructions in the manual and simply match the colors to the standard wiring color configuration.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Piggy bank price
