Review on πŸ”‹ Hands-Free Hamilton Beach Walk 'n Cut Can Opener - Cordless, Rechargeable, Black 76501G by Tim Purdie

Bad transformer after only 2 months (or less, not sure) -BAD- Bad switch and wiring!

The other day I tried to use a can opener. Dead battery. Hm. Worked a week ago. Plugged it into a small wall charger and tried to start after about 10 minutes of charging. No movement. Hm. He pulled out a multimeter and checked the wall charger for warts. zero volt output. Tested the wall outlet, 120V AC, and the blender works there, so the power in the wall is good. Check the performance of the transformer by pulling the bend in the cable. Nothing. dead transformer? These things should last almost forever. Now we are looking for a 3 volt 200mA wall charger with the right plug. If I can just find a charger, I can switch plugs easily enough to eat spaghetti and meatballs. Now I'm hungry. Hungry! .EDIT: Well I decided to analyze it. And I've found that a cheap copper switch covered in corrosion is no good! So I shorted it out with a steel hook and it works, right? The battery is fine (By the way, NiCd is not lithium or NiMh). However, does the ground wire look like it's blinded? Completely covered in sections of heat shrink I believe I was sold a remanufactured/rebuilt can opener! So not only is the transformer dead, charging won't work anyway because the negative wire is a full open circuit and the switch is rusted and won't close. Damn junk. In the trash (so ends up in the recycling system except for the battery, which I took out). Never buy Hamilton Beach again, a name to avoid.
