(1) The top of the paper doesn't slide very deep into the device, so the perforated holes are a bit closer to the top of the sheet than usual, and also (2) the holes are too close together so you might tear the paper just a tiny bit when you put it in a file folder, and (3) the paper doesn't slide decisively into the guide You have to spend a few extra seconds to make sure it's sitting straight , before you meet them. But it's very compact with an attractive, slim design. It doesn't take up much space at all and doesn't irritate your eyes like a regular hole punch. You might even be able to adjust it perfectly and punch holes like you would with a stapler.
