Personally I am disappointed with this tank. While you don't have to worry about the typical seams in a typical aquarium, there are some disadvantages that outweigh the advantages. To attach the filter you have to open the back door of the lid, which leaves a large opening that my snails love to climb out through. The filter is not flat and Fluval created a small piece of plastic that looks like a key that attaches to the bottom of the filter. The "key" has "prongs" of varying lengths and you twist it until you find a length that touches the back of the aquarium glass and aligns the filter. It would be nice if the key-like piece of plastic actually stayed in place. Mine keeps popping right out of the bottom of the filter for a few seconds. It's annoying! You have to screw something else to align it. And build something to fill the big hole made when you opened the door from the back of the lid. Finally, the suction tube that enters the water (which sucks water into the filter) needs to have some sort of protection - maybe a mesh? It's quite a sucker and my neons are struggling to keep up. So there's a third thing I'm going to fix. Overall - very disappointed in this 16 gallon Fluval tank. In creating this design, they overlooked a few key factors.
