Thinking Hamilton Beach would be cheaper and at the same time a well-known brand, I bought it for my wife. KitchenAid was out of our price range and after reading the reviews I decided on this one. There were many good reviews but also a few negative ones including the plastic hinges breaking which prevented the blender from being lowered into the bowl itself and latched to stay down. We are still under warranty and I hope that this manufacturer will replace this device with a more durable one. I will update this review as soon as I receive information from the manufacturer.
