Good soft cotton paper for beginners at a good price

I like pads but they are expensive compared to pads. Looking for something more affordable than Arches, I found this brand from Baohong and decided to give it a try. I was positively surprised! The paper holds the dried paint well but allows you to remove the wet paint. For example, I applied a heavily pigmented stroke with a dry brush, and after it dried, the dry brush stroke did NOT move, even after multiple attempts at re-wetting and swiping. The paper really stuck to it. With intentional wet-on-dry processing, the paper allowed multiple glazes to be applied without disturbing the underlying color. However, for wet-on-wet work, I really liked how easy it was to remove the paint, even if it was lying there a bit. Also withstands cleaning. In general, "forgive" is the word that describes this article: it has features to help you get good results as well as features to help you troubleshoot. I am very satisfied and will probably buy it again in a larger format.
