Let's get the bad out of the way: When I first got it, the printing was a bit odd. I have received two. A blue mug with a white lid for me and a purple mug with a gold lid for my girlfriend. The colors of my alma maters are blue and gold. Their alma maters' colors are purple and white, so we swapped the lids. One of them was too tight and she almost spilled water on the floor. One of them was a little loose and leaked out from under your mouth as you tilted the cup to take a sip. On the bright side, that was over a year ago. After a few weeks of daily use, both seals normalized back to a fixed mean. It's thick enough not to leak. It is loose enough to be removed easily and safely. The same goes for your mug. If you put the mug out of the sun at room temperature and fill it with crushed ice and ice water, the water will stay cold for about 16 hours. I know this because at the end of the workday around 5 I fill it up with ice water and leave the mug on my desk. In the afternoon of the next day, the water is still cold at noon. Cubic ice will probably last even longer. The mug is impressively sealed. My friend's nephews played with it and knocked it over while it was full of water. The lid was closed and only a small drop of water came out of the opening on the first hit. After landing it rolled on the carpet for a while before we could get her nephew and nothing else was spilled. It's very durable, including the lid and paint. I was a bit hesitant to paint because I was afraid it would scratch, but this paint is very thick and very hard. It looks like it's being cooked. I've been using this stuff every day for over a year. It is used every day in my office and car. He has accompanied me on countless fishing trips. It has been ridden in a kayak cup holder on more than a dozen rowing trips. The lid still looks relatively new. A small band of paint about 1/16 inch wide around the underside of the base has rubbed off revealing silver metal. Along with a cut on the side that was inflicted in an unknown manner. The color is still light blue. It fits in every cup holder I've ever tried to fit it in. It also fits very securely into the water bottle holders on the sides of two of my Jansport backpacks. Cup 10/10 on all sides. I can't say enough good things about it.
