The quality is ok on the whole, it has some small flaws.

I read reviews, watched reviews, thought it was a really decent camera, but it turned out to be just a marketing move by Nikon.
Terribly disappointed!
Photoshop saves, I pull it out from RAW, but this is not a panacea. I was hoping for high-quality photos without processing. This camera is suitable for shooting photos and landscapes, but for portrait photography, alas .
I do not want to keep such a camera as a second camera.
I look forward to getting rid of it and buying a NIkon D5100.

In less than half a year, the 10-30 / 3.5-5.6 kit lens was out of order, the lens error wascomnstantly displayed on the display. Sent under warranty for repair (Hong Kong). They returned it after 4 months, the warranty says: no defects were found (! ) Thank God it worked, the reasons for the refusal were not indicated. Acomuple of years have ped, I take little pictures (I used the photo resource by 10%), the camera lay on the shelf when I tried to take a picture, again the same bug (lens error,comntact the service center). I spat on the service, bought a Nikon 18.5mm f / 1.8 Nikkor 1 fix. I threw the old lens in the trash, before that it ed me up.
The aperture ratio of the fix slightly changed the handwriting of the photograph, but still, the Nikon 1 J1 discourages all the desire for creativity, which, in principle, happened with the purchase of this mediocre family camera that works on the principle of "auto-tuning", because nothing can be squeezed out of such a matrix. Even working in Photoshop, you notice that there is a terribly little pixel material.
Total: I spent 24,000 re, but Icomuld immediately buy a NIkon D3100 Body for this money and buy a normal fix (Nikon 50mm f / 1.8G AF-S) for every day.
Do not be fooled by the promotion and paid tests, trust the forum and true reviews.

Pros

1. Good video, slow motion chips. That's about it. 2. Cheap. If you get used to it, you can take good pictures.

Cons

A very noisy matrix, the focus s, you have to take a photo from several attempts. Only in manual mode it turns out to more or less take a good picture. The battery is weak. Ergonomics is unimportant, you have to constantly climb into the menu. It is very inconvenient to hold this camera in your hands, there is no grip, when shooting video with your hands, you can casually close the microphone.
