Updated: I really liked this tablet. It was fast, good battery life and a great picture. However, after only 18 months I started having problems with very fast battery drain, screen flickering and system reboots. I have taken the tablet to several reputable stores in my area. The first and least expensive option was to replace the battery to see if we could fix the drain issue. This didn't fix the problem even after trying to put in 2 new batteries. They then determined that there might be an issue with the ambient light sensor that regulates the screen, but couldn't be sure if it was the sensor or the circuit board. Disabling the automatic feature seemed to fix the drain issue, but the flickering and rebooting continues. In the end, it was recommended to give up the tablet, since fixing all the problems would cost almost as much as a new tablet. That's very disappointing. The tablet was always in a case. Always treated with care and never abused. Used often, but not every day. I expect a $500 tablet to last over 18 months. I understand that as a tablet or phone ages, it freezes making you WANT to replace it, but failure of most major hardware components in less than 2 years is unforgivable. I'm not sure which direction I'm going in for my next tablet. It's become a staple of the home, but maybe Samsung isn't our brand? First, I'm not an Apple supporter. I've been using Android devices for many years. I have used both Apple and Samsung and prefer Samsung. It has a great image, a fast processor and enough light for my purposes. I'm very glad I chose this product over the iPad Air.
