Review on πŸ’» Enhanced VGA USB Compact KVM Switch - IOGEAR GCS632U 2 Port by Sam Duppa

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works as advertised.

I bought this to replace a Trendnet TK-209 KVM 2 port switch. Trendnet worked fine with Vista, but with Windows 7 it didn't maintain the correct resolution for my monitor. For example, if I had a resolution of 1920x1080 and then switched to another computer, when I switched back I found the resolution below 1280x1080 and distorted. I searched the internet and found that the problem is related to Windows 7. I tried to fix it with registry tweaks and software but nothing worked 100% of the time. I found that to solve this problem you need something that works like an EDID emulator. This KVM solved it for me. It works, it's inexpensive, and it's easy to install. However, do not switch mouse and keyboard, otherwise the hotkey to switch systems will not work. Another option is to buy a more expensive emulator: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0032ETRAK/ref=crt_ewc_title_wl_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=APYTWWAZU7OCQ

Cons
