Great functionality but terrible app so far

The device is easy to install if you know what you are doing. If, like me, you don't know much about automotive electrical work, then you may need to do a lot of reading before you tackle it. The instructions that came with the unit are for experienced people who know this and at a high level, if you are unfamiliar with wiring things up in a car this might be overkill. Don't get discouraged, I was the one who didn't know and I went to Tacom World and read about all things related. I did that and it wasn't too difficult afterwards. Note that I installed this on a 2019 Tacoma and you will also need a mount from Caliraised and I also got a new bezel for the left cubby area (see the forum above) also from Caliraised. Once you've done that, it should be fairly easy and work as advertised. I've only been connected to one accessory so far and I love the fact that you can dim the brightness of that accessory. In my case I had the raptor like lights and was too bright so I was able to use the switch to dim the brightness. Also, I was able to save the setting so when I turn it back on the truck will remember the setting - pretty nice folks. I'll play with other settings when I have more accessories, but for now the only bad thing is the following. Now for the bad: the app isn't bad. This is "TERRIBLE" for a $500+ device, the least you can expect is a good app. Well, it isn't. Every action you perform in the app (click the option, click next, click exit, bring up the menu even if you open it for the first time), a page will "load", which takes a few seconds so you can click anything I'm stuck waiting for the screen to load. This is totally unacceptable on the iPhone X. I've emailed the seller about this, but haven't received a response yet. I'll post an update if they can fix it.

Pros
  • Battery voltage indicator on app screen
Cons
  • Almost everything is ok
