My expensive department store makeup mirror broke and I was looking for a new one. I really love this mirror. What makes it good is that it runs on both USB and battery. I would recommend using USB if you have the ability to plug it in. It's really bright when plugged in. In battery mode it is twice as weak. I'm assuming this is a power limit so you don't drain your batteries every 5 minutes. I wake up very early for work, before my husband, so I try not to disturb him when I'm doing my makeup. This mirror is so bright that I can apply makeup in a completely dark room using just the light from my mirror. I also love that the smaller side mirrors get even bigger for applying things like eyeliner. Honestly, I like this mirror a lot better than my previous one, which I spent twice as much money on.
