My bird has lived for over 16 years and always thought he was a male. I only order this bed to add something new to the plaid. Shortly thereafter, SHE began to lay eggs. When I spoke to the vet, she said it was very likely that she felt so safe and comfortable in the bed that her body started producing eggs. She suggested I remove it to stop egg laying, but she must really like this thing if it even starts. She's a kennel so she got all the stuffing out but I don't blame the product as kennels are notorious for chewing.
