I used to keep an iPad in the car for my daughter to see. Terrible idea because it would kill my arm. It's decided! Esp for our 7 hour drive. My husband found it easy to install (which means it was very easy). The only complication is that when we installed our iPad, we kept pressing the volume buttons on the side of the iPad, so the volume image never goes away (and is at max volume). I moved it 10,000 times but kept bouncing back. Luckily my 18 month old didn't mind.
