As a beautician, I like to try some products on myself before using them on my clients. I used to use Gigi wax and liked it, but this one is new to me and sounds good so I decided to give it a try! The product arrived on time and well packaged. It had no plastic or foil tin coating on top and under the plastic lid to prevent leakage, so the edges of the lid bled a bit. Not a big deal but I was wondering if it had previously been opened and repackaged with plastic resealed on the outside. If it had somehow come loose during transport it would have been a waxy mess so just a word of caution. The container was slightly damaged as you can see from the photos but not so bad that something leaked which rendered the product unusable so I did not return it. Opening the jar the rims were very sticky as was the wax but as I said there was no seal so it hit the rims but the stickiness held the lid in place. The scent was wonderfully pleasant. If you love chocolate like me then this is a great smelling wax! I put on a wax collar and placed it on a heating pad to try it out. After heating, the fragrant aroma of warm chocolate filled the room. Although it took some time to melt, it worked well. It was very sticky and thick so I had to work quickly to spread it evenly over my skin. The first few times were a learning experience. It builds up quickly on muslin, and a streak isn't as good as other waxes. However, I found that because it was so sticky I could use it on one area and then apply the strip to the portion of the other waxed area with the remaining hair, spread and pull again to gather it. It seeps through the fabric to the wrong side and also spreads under the fabric after the fabric is placed, so you'll need to take this into account when depilating (this might be the type of strip I used) but it will at the be best with the slimming application. It was pretty messy to use compared to other waxes, but it did the job. I've used it on my legs, armpits and bikini area and haven't had any rashes, redness or any unusual swelling. This is my experience and my skin is tolerant of some things and sensitive to others but always remember to do a little test before waxing. I would recommend using this on legs, underarms and for American or French bikini hair removal. This works well for coarse hair. I then used the Azulene Post-Epilation Oil and found it beneficial, especially on sensitive skin.
