Review on πŸš— Britax Marathon ClickTight Convertible Car Seat - Dual Comfort Grey: Moisture Wicking & Ventilating Fabric [Amazon Exclusive] by Deborah Velarde

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality, easy to install, IMPOSSIBLE TO CLEAN

I've had this car seat for a year now. I started against the direction of travel and recently turned forward. My thoughts on this: ASSEMBLY - Easy and safe with the seat belt! I bought this to replace the Graco Extend-2 fit which made it impossible for me to put my seat belt on securely (I want my child to be in the middle seat where there are no latches). This Britax seat requires very little tension on the seat belt to latch as the seat 'clicks' onto it. No more awkwardly rocking and jerking your foot in the seat until your arms feel like they're about to fall off! COMFORT - My toddler seems to really enjoy the seat. She's too young to complain about it, but she's always had to sit in it, so I guess it's comfortable. CLEANING - It's downhill here. My baby recently vomited. GRAYER, GRAYER. It's as if the designers of this seat thought about how many slots they could create to collect vomit, and then doubled that number. I had to remove all the padding (about 5 damn pieces so it took me a video to put it back on), cotton swabs in every hole and crevice I could find, and then clean it all up again because it still smelled like vomit . If I had to redesign, I'd look for a seat with a single cushion that covers the entire frame so liquid has nowhere to drip. OPTIONAL - WTF, Britax? No coaster? For real? This thing is horribly expensive due to the lack of a cup holder, and the (very expensive) one you can add has terrible reviews. *sigh* Since a secure fit and safety is most important to me, I give this seat 4 stars. However, I would consider the Chicco NextFit if I had to rebuild it.

Pros
  • No twisting: 14-way harness and headrest slide together with one hand to keep your child properly seated
Cons
  • No insurance
