Review on Efficient Replacement Cooling Fan Assembly: TYC 623760 by Rico Posley

This fits my 2017 Pathfinder well. Relatively easy to install, only a few other elements had to be removed. The original equipment fans would start making a "whining" noise and would only start clicking after a few days, and then they would start sounding like about 200 nuts and bolts in a clothes dryer. It didn't take long to search the internet and I found this "known issue" with the Pathfinder fan bearings failing. I have searched other auto parts websites and the only difference is that Revain is only cheaper to get it to me faster. When I discovered this problem, the machine could not move due to fan noise.1. It's a direct replacement, meaning everything is plugged in and screwed down properly.2. I had to remove the battery, the air intake above the radiator and the intake box (which contains the filter). 3. I had to tie the upper radiator hose without unpinning it, just gently pull it back and attach it to the front of the engine to keep it out of the way.4. I also had to unscrew the electronics box and move it next to the air filter box to make some room to work.5. Also, disconnect and remove the fan tray controller from the old fan tray AND the new fan tray. This makes it much easier to remove the old one and put in the new one.6. The new fan tray controller has an additional notch on the chassis that is not used. Just ignore it, I still think it's empty, see pic.7. In new construction, there is no foam around the fans. I bought a Lowes marine/automotive rubber decal and it worked great. You need this to keep the new fan quiet, it's basically a noise deadening molding to dampen fan vibrations between the new fan assembly and the heatsink frame it's mounted on.8. The old fan assembly came out with a little patience and a lot of wiggling. The new knot went in much easier, nothing broke and it held in place. It's been two days since I installed it and it's still working great.
