I like it a lot more than sandpaper like stuff. I've never tried a glass rasp. It smoothes the legs excellently and can be washed off immediately. The handle makes handling easier. After wearing flip flops every day, my feet get very dry. I can do this quickly at the end of each day so the corns don't get too big. It doesn't remove as much as the salon grater, but I like that I can't damage or cut my skin.
