I have thick, colour-treated, naturally curly hair. I've tried many conditioners in search of the perfect one. I finally decided there was more than one, at least for me. However, there are products that work way better than others depending on how I style my hair. So I always test every new product three ways: natural (unstyled) hair, straightened hair and curly hair. The verdict for this product was one I didn't expect: it was excellent for my natural hair AND for the days I straighten my hair. my hair. I think this may be the first conditioner I've tried and I felt the results were equally good with two of my three styling options. When I let my hair dry naturally after using this product (in combination with a shampoo from the same brand) it was silky, shiny and smooth. Which was definitely a change because my hair, in its natural state, was usually one giant fluffy mess. Actually I was amazed. When I plan to straighten my hair, I usually use a leave-in conditioner or some type of heat protectant. I wanted to see how this air conditioner would work on its own. To be honest I was amazed. My hair was so soft and shiny. And it also had an amazing texture that I've never experienced without adding other post-wash products. Later that day of testing I went for a walk after it had stormed for most of the day so it was VERY humid outside. When I got back my hair wasn't exactly straight but it was amazingly wavy and most importantly not frizzy! Slammed again. Now. My hair product reviews always have a third component: How do they behave on my hair when I style it curly? I tried it last and guessed the result beforehand. The same oils that made my hair shiny, frizzy, and super manageable when straightened or unstyled were too heavy to curl. It wasn't bad as a conditioner for curly hair, but it wasn't my favorite. I have tried several products from Woman to Woman Naturals and they have all impressed me. The Chic Collection Moisturizing Conditioner is no exception. I love it and will keep it in the shower to use on the days I plan to leave my hair unkempt or straighten it. I look forward to many more great results. (And the compliments on my shiny hair were nice too!)
