These are excellent wrestling shoes for training and competition in the ring. I personally wear this with kick pads over it and they provide the perfect grip so I don't fall off during a game or practice session. The shoes can be tight around the toes, but it also gives me a sense of where I can land properly without having extra room in the shoe to rotate my foot. Not sure about amateur wrestling but for professional wrestling these are great shoes that have lasted me for almost 2 years.
