Wow, I can't believe I finally found something that my super picky Jack Russell/Dachshund mix will eat. Like another reviewer's dog, my dog was fed the Hills Science Diet at an animal shelter and was advised to continue eating the same food at home. She won't touch him. So I tried the 'best' brands - wet and dry - with no 'animal by-products' (i.e. what's left on the slaughterhouse floor) and with meat as the first ingredient, but she still wouldn't eat it - until she died. practically starve. I was hesitant to try another brand of food because I didn't want to upset her stomach, but she needed to eat SOMETHING. I was also reluctant to buy a Redbarn roll, thinking it might be a hassle to prepare, and ended up throwing away or giving away what was left. I'm so glad I took the risk of buying this dog food. Cooking isn't a problem at all - I just sawed off a circle - about 3/4 inch - and cut it into small pieces. Instead of sniffing her bowl, wrinkling her nose and ignoring her food for hours; She takes this stuff, licks her bowl and then looks at me expecting more. I can not believe that! I guess dog food has ingredients that are good enough for humans (not that I would eat it, but it smells REALLY AMAZING) then I feel comfortable feeding it to my dog. I couldn't be happier - and my dog gives him two paws up. I order more to keep in the freezer!
