Fantastic price: Household fans

This fan is quite decent for the price. I bought this fan to integrate with a whole house fan I was building instead of installing central air conditioning. After unpacking, the run was ready to go. Unpack and connect. The fan is rated at 2800 cfm on low and 4000 cfm on high, however the low seems to be much less than the nominal. The difference between high and low was a significant difference. I'm no airflow expert, but I'd say this fan pushes three times more air at high speeds than at low speeds. Even at high settings, this fan wasn't overly unbalanced and stayed in place. At the low RPM I intended to use as a whole house fan, the fan is almost imperceptible to any noise or vibration of any kind. I was able to remove the stand and install it directly into a round hole cut in the plywood and install it directly in the attic and the vibration or hum can be heard from the movement. Only a faint fan noise comes from the grille I attached to the bottom. I ran this fan for a few hours in my garage with the garage door open (80 degrees Fahrenheit outside) and this fan maintained enough air movement that I didn't even break a sweat. I'm only rating 4 stars due to the low speed feel like it's over rated but it was good for my app. I will probably only award the 2nd star for garage work.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Concerns me
