This clamp will fit 1-3/4 inch OD hose, but barely . It basically opens exactly 1-3/4 inches at most. There is a tongue that can be ground down to allow it to open up a bit more. (See photo) You may want to wear safety goggles in case he slips away. from you. lol. So with my 1-3/4" OD hose on the plastic radiator fitting, it barely went in, and it had a very small flange and plenty of room to work with. I didn't even try on the motor end of the hose, where there was one There was a larger metal flange. The only way to get this to work is to put a clamp over the fitting so that when you attach it the hose goes through the flange and then into the clamp. You would be at your absolute limit if you could do that wouldn't try the polishing mentioned above.As for the clamps in general they are amazing and provide a nice consistent grip that lasts even if your hose softens over time etc. I don't know why they are so hard to find .They are overpriced for what they are.But I have not found them anywhere else.
