An affordable solution to Belgian waffle cravings

I'm dying of Belgian waffles and because of the pandemic I won't be eating anywhere. Makes good waffles. Temperature control could be a bit more intuitive (think colored dots instead of just + or -). I had to flip it all the way to get nice toasted waffles. This may be my waffle mix, but the waffles came out a little soggy. I'll try making waffle mix from scratch to see if that makes a difference. I find that whipped egg whites will go a long way. It's like a cleaning bear. The waffle plates should be removable for easier cleaning, but the worst annoyance is the hinge where the top and bottom plates meet. The oil applied with the brush collects there and turns into an ugly brown goo. I cleaned it up with small bamboo skewers and paper towels. Since nothing is disassembled on this waffle maker, you cannot use soapy water (there is no way to wash off the soap) due to the electrical connections. The chrome on the outside of the waffle iron looks a bit flimsy and flimsy. I haven't tested it, but I wouldn't want to dent it. If you want better features in a waffle maker, you pay a higher price overall. Like I said it works but you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No vending machine
