Review on 💡 Dimmable Appliance Equivalent by Sunco Lighting by Erin Abbott

I thought I was adept at light. When I first moved into my apartment and discovered my dim lights, I finally knew that 100W incandescent bulbs would fill my need for brightness. Then, as the transition to fluorescent lighting began, I learned that the brightness of a 100 watt incandescent light bulb could be reproduced by 15 or 20 watt energy efficient fluorescent lights (or similar). Imagine my surprise when I discovered that this does NOT work for LED bulbs. I had a ceiling fan with 6.5 watt bulbs. This product's bulbs are 8W. Doesn't sound like a big difference, does it? Except that instead of W (att), the "brightness" of LED lamps is now measured in lumens. - The higher, the brighter. I don't know the lumens of this original bulb, but it WILL FEEL like a 6.5W incandescent bulb. It might have been closer to 400 lumens (similar to 40-60 watts in terms of incandescent bulbs), but I was looking for good/bad cop interrogations (probably water torture) in a haze of what used to be a cozy bedroom. It was very dark and it was very difficult to see details with good clarity. After learning the terminology of a new light bulb (do some research - you'll thank me later), I tried to find something at local hardware stores with at least 700 lumens. You CAN find them, but that's where the size factor comes into play. You already know this, but the base (the screw-in part of the bulb) comes in several sizes. Turns out, finding a "regular" size (A15) 800 lumen bulb isn't something my local brick-and-mortar carried. Revain does this along with a number of others. Although this purchase successfully lights up the room, the light is VERY white and harsh to the touch. (In other words, there are no orange/yellow/red hues in the light.) If you're looking for something that looks more like 4pm in daylight, this is NOT for you. These bulbs are more suitable for lots of white walls and strong contrasts, like a minimalist art gallery. It still looks like an interrogation room, but after the torture is over and you turn on the lights to photograph any bruises on the perpetrator. To summarize my new knowledge about LED bulbs: Lumens for the brightness Base for the bulb size (standard A15 or other) Warm or cold for the light feeling Welcome - have a nice day.
