First the description says wooden grips. These are NOT wooden handles. They are made of plastic with a wood grain finish. Description must be changed by the seller! They are great for my purpose and I prefer the plastic handles. So it doesn't really matter. I would prefer plastic as wood keeps bacteria away. I use them for Halloween costumes to give them an aged look. They are sharp and can withstand coarse materials. If you smear fake blood or paint on them they will actually peel off unlike wood. You can take a beating. 5 stars for my app.
