**Update**** Regarding the concentric ring issue described earlier, I just decided to wipe the lens and they are gone. So it looks like it's the remnants of a foil covering it. I also bought another one for the garden, with a longer range. Terrible for long range night vision. I can not see anything! Removed and placed on another door that requires short clearance. It's really good for that *** Motion detection is excellent and images can be played back from the included SD card without having to pay for a cloud service. This is the main reason I bought. I have two of these and one is connected to a solar charger. I connected the other to a USB lamp socket that turns on from dusk to dawn so it charges overnight and the battery stays at 100% all the time. Long distance night vision is terrible. As you can see in the dark photo of the unlit courtyard. At a short distance. up to 6 feet is fine but there may be some odd concentric rings described by some others. I turn off the night vision goggles on my porch because the pendant light glows enough to capture the color. It serves my purpose as a short range door monitor. I wouldn't use it as a long-distance night camera.
