It's hard to get started but once you start rolling it out it becomes very opaque and shows up really well on black paper. I use them for drawing on tinted paper and on my black stickers. Better than any pen I've used, especially on dark or tinted paper. Even shiny or metallic pens I've ever used in the past. They are very aesthetic to look at and have designs on them. The plastic is very thick and strong, so I haven't broken one (yet), but it doesn't interfere with writing in any way. In fact, it's more convenient to hold it like a pencil. It has a nice plastic texture and is a lot of fun. They actually show up better than any metallic or white marker I've used and are a lot easier to control.
