Review on 🚀 Zoom DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem 5341-02-03H: Fast and Reliable Internet Access by Bob Kussmaul

Before this modem, I originally worked with the Motorola 5100 series and then "upgraded" to the Motorola Surfboard SB6121 when my cable company switched to DOCSIS 3.0. Both Motorola modems had problems disconnecting and rebooting. I had a remote on/off switch to reset the 5100 series as it didn't auto reset. Although the SB6121 is on the cable company's "Recommended" list, it was even worse from the start. After re-wiring the incoming cable connections inside and out twice with no improvement, I finally determined that the problem was heat build-up in the Motorola modem. It didn't feel that hot physically, but with a high-speed fan blowing directly on it from about 2 feet away, the frequency of shutdowns and restarts dropped drastically. For some time. Over time it deteriorated to the point that suddenly, just if you completely removed half the cover from the modem and blew cold air directly on the board, it would work for more than a few minutes before disconnecting and restarting. I bought the Zoom 5341-02-03H simply because in a limited number of reviews, no one reported clearing/rebooting issues. The cable company was unaware of the Zoom model. It took me three attempts with tech support to find a woman who knew how to properly set up a modem on her site, and the first tech messed up our phone system in the process. To be fair, not knowing the device can be a disadvantage, depending on the experience of your cable company's technicians. But oh yes, it was worth it! 3+ months of uninterrupted, error-free, superbly uninterrupted high-speed internet connection, NOT A SINGLE disconnect/restart. none! And it does it at faster speeds than the SB6121, for about half the price of the SB6121 or newer incarnations. I would give more than five stars if I could.
