Perfection in Coffeehood

When I was young I married a beauty from Louisiana. Not only did she cook so well that I doubled my size every year, but she also brought certain foods into my life. I don't mean the way you staple sheets of paper together, I mean things that are asked for all the time. I was already a coffee drinker when I married her, but she brought community coffee into my life. Back then (I'm talking last century) Community Coffee was only sold in Louisiana. We delivered it to ourselves for years moving from Washington State to Colorado to Delaware and Maryland. It wasn't until we moved to Texas that the community became widely accessible. Over the years, as life has changed, children have grown and hearts have been broken, the community has grown smaller. He stopped being the captain. Coffee continued to be a staple, but not a community. But like a roaming man who eventually returns home, community has crept in again. Not because it's cheap (it's not), but because it's good and reliable, like a good single malt. You can count on the flavor and warmth of community to remind you that you're alive and can still enjoy a damn good cup of coffee.
