Review on Enhanced Intel Core i7-5820K Desktop Processor (6 Cores, 3.3GHz, 15MB Cache) with Advanced Hyper-Threading Technology by Micha Puzio ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the level, I am satisfied with everything.

Having decided to upgrade, albeit belatedly (after all, prices had already grown 1.5 times by the time of the upgrade), I settled on the Socket 2022-3 platform and the 5930K processor. At first I wanted to buy the 5960X, but the price of 57 thousand did not allow me to decide to buy (however, in a month, the 5930K, unfortunately, will probably cost the same - today I would buy the 5960X without hesitation). Unlike the 58th series, the 59th has a full-fledged PCI controller for 40 lanes. This is useful when building SLI, which determined my choice. Paired with the processor is the Asus X99-A MP with 32 GB of RAM and a pair of Asus STRIX GTX980, providing a performance backlog for several years to come. The processor itself was successfully overclocked to 4.6 GHz with air cooling (Noctua D-14), and the maximum operating frequency exceeded 4.7 GHz, but the tests at this frequency have not passed. The temperature after an hour of stress testing at a frequency of 4.6 GHz is 55 degrees, the system is stable. Conclusion: a solid processor with good performance reserves is the right choice in a difficult economic environment. I definitely recommend.

Pros
  • 1) Productivity margin for 5 years ahead. 2) The platform supports 8 DDR-4 slots. 3) 40 PCI-E lines (for 59 processors). 4) Luxurious overclocking potential.
