This is a really cool gadget. I needed a way to hold my iPhone so I could see it clearly while cycling. I had an expensive mount that required me to take my phone out of its regular case and put it in a new case that fits the mount. But it hurt and I took it back to REI. So I searched and saw this. I bought one to see how it works. It holds the phone very securely and allows access to the screen. It rotates when you want to see the screen in landscape mode, but I don't usually use it that way. When it rains, as it often does in PNW, I grab a zippered kitchen bag, cut a small hole in the bottom for the charging cable (connected to the battery in the frame mount), and slip my phone into the bag. The case fits easily and securely into this mount, and voila, I can ride in the rain with my phone in front of me. I love it so much I bought 2 more, one for my wife and one for my son. I highly recommend it. This is the best!
