Let's start with the quality as it really is a fantastic product in terms of look and feel. The material is aluminum with steel bolts and nuts connecting the parts. I don't know if this is aerospace grade aluminum, whatever that means, but it's hard and machined. Finish: Matt powder coated. It looks really good without being flashy. The only problematic detail is the rounded corners at the top, which can scratch the underside of heavier laptops or tables if they accidentally slide down, which can happen when adjusting. Duct tape, cardboard, or cloth will fix this. For adjustment: The moving parts are fastened with nylon nuts, with nylon inserts to prevent loosening. This is ideal when the nuts are not too tight and need to move or rotate freely. For example a skateboard or wheels. The stand works like this: the tighter the nuts are tightened, the more weight it can support due to the adjustability. It gets a bit tricky when the objects are a bit heavier. You can use a wrench, but this makes adjustment impossible. Nylon washer knurled nuts work better but are more expensive. If you're looking to retrofit, you'll have plenty to choose from if you search "M6 Knurled Nuts". I give this product five stars. It works as intended and does not disappoint. The quality is better than expected. The finish is flawless.
