This is the 2nd time I am writing this review as I accidentally closed the page and deleted 3 paragraphs praising this product. so here we go again. This brewer is amazing. Easy and uncomplicated. It's easy to use, but if you have any questions, it comes with an easy-to-read instruction manual. As soon as this pot arrived at my door I noticed that the carrier wasn't as kind to my package as it should have been as it looked like it had been dropped quite badly. I was a little scared because I knew it was a large glass carafe. But when I opened it everything was perfect. The pot is mounted in rigid styrofoam so it seems it didn't even feel the impact. I am more than grateful for that. Upon examining the item, I was pleasantly surprised by its weight, a weight I did not expect. It's strong and very durable. The silicone sealant warped a little, but it was only cosmetic, so I swept it aside and set the jug up for washing before starting my first brew. It's very easy to wash, all the parts are separate, but the glass carafe doesn't want to come out of the steel bracket. The instructions said it could be removed, but I expect it will take a lot of perseverance and effort. So I left it, I'm too clumsy so I'd probably smash it if I tried. Nothing wrong with that, the steel holder is just a holder so getting under the carafe is not a priority for me. This requires more ground coffee than a regular 5 cup coffee pot, in total I used about 6 scoops instead of the usual 2. Needless to say I was expecting strong coffee. I had never had coldbrew before so I was very surprised that it takes around 16-24 hours to fully brew. But I got patient, so I kept going. The pouring of water requires some patience, care must be taken that the ground coffee is not packed too tightly and is completely soaked when pouring. I took a little, poured until the filter was full, drained, then poured more. It was oddly soothing, I think I was even able to meditate while making my drink. After about 10 minutes of pouring and waiting, I took it out and put the lid on to put it in the fridge. I set my Alexa alarm for 4 p.m. and started my waiting game. The next morning I woke up around 11am and went to the fridge to get my pot of gold. The color of the coffee had changed from light brown to a rich dark, and I was itching to pour myself a glass. I couldn't wait to try it. My stepfather and I, both coffee drinkers, each picked up a mug and took a sip. Now I usually top up my coffee with cream and sugar, but this time I prefer the black one! It was a first, but that was because the flavors of my hazelnut, caramel macchiato, and maple base mix came out so beautifully that I didn't even need sugar or cream. My stepfather said he was "brave and tough," as many coffee drinkers say, and until now I've never really understood that. But he's right. It was bold, beautiful, fragrant and absolutely wonderful. I won't regret it, and with a lifetime guarantee on this item I'll never have to buy a cold brew ever again. I firmly believe that in 10, 20, maybe even 30 years I will still be using this great coffee pot. Thank you Cafe du Chateau Kitchen for such a wonderful product.
