An internet device I've recently received tends to get noticeably hot. This is bad for the device itself, and I've found that rising temperatures can affect connection speeds. Buying this little fan was the perfect decision. You can place a T-Mobile device on it to let air flow through it (in this case you'll need to find a way to insulate the area between the fan and the base of the gateway, otherwise a lot of air will come out). , or you can place a fan at the top where it sucks warm air out. The latter worked very well for me. Now the gateway will never overheat again. The fan has three speeds and everything works fine. It's not surprising that the highest speed produces more noise, but it's a "quiet noise" that might not bother you.
