Review on 2-Pack Kohler-Compatible Canister Flush Valve Seal Replacements for Toilets - Equal to K-GP1059291 by James Crofton

Final decision. So easy.

toilet equipment. It's simple mechanics and gravity. These Kohler toilets (the ones with the "canister") have a seal that breaks or fails over time. Water seeps into the bowl. The valve is activated to replace the lost water from the tank. REPLACE THE GASKET ONLY! This can be done in less than 5 minutes. Tips: 1. Do not separate the chain - a waste of time. 2. Lift the canister to remove the pin. 3. Hold the canister up with one hand and with the other hand twist the pin in the base to remove - note the configuration of the slot the pin fits into when reinserting. 4. Turn the canister upside down and remove the old seal. Make sure you remove all of this and wipe down that area of the canister and any accumulated dirt where the gasket meets the tank. 5. Put a new gasket on the bottom of the canister - it fits snugly into the groove, almost like a rubber band, and you just drive it around. 6. Use both hands to move the canister over the hole the same way you took things out and reinsert the pin, turning it clockwise to lock it. 7. You can rotate the canister where you want it in relation to the chain and lever. Now check the flush. Immediately striking tight tight seal. This soft yellow material is different from the original red rubber seal that broke and leaked. Seems to create a better seal.
