Review on TP-Link TL-WN821N N300 USB Wireless WiFi Network Adapter for PC, Compatible with Windows/Linux/Mac OS by Bambang ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I expected more from buying, but not the worst option.

I bought it to distribute the Internet from a computer to a smartphone (ates, downloads, etc.). In general, it copes with this task normally, but if you use it for a long time, it just breaks the connection, you have to turn it off completely. At first, this mode did not want to work at all, even with ating drivers and software, from the office. site (failed to configure SoftAP mode.). Okay, I went to smoke office. manual, climb on YouTube and Google, arrange access to the network, start services - nothing helped. Frustrated, I installed Connectify, and lo and behold! The native Tp-Link software began to receive an IP address and distribute traffic after this procedure, but you still have to set up access to the network anyway. Hardware version 4, this miracle. I have no idea how the normal mode works there, but SoftAP is rather problematic. Suitable for ates, but for something more (online games, etc.) it is unlikely to be capable.

Pros
  • Working
Cons
  • - The data transfer rate does not exceed 50Mbps, both for outgoing and incoming. - Sometimes, breaks the connection for no reason. - At the beginning, SoftAP did not work on native software. In general, he is weird, sometimes he doesn’t even get the IP address of the network. - The signal strength drops sharply, one has only to put the source behind the table. What kind of penetration through the walls they are talking about here - I don’t understand.
