Review on Soma Pitcher - 10-Cup Black Water Filtration System with Plant-Based Filter by Tiffany Harvey

I have loved my original Soma water filter for 3 years; I decided to order a second one specifically for my trip to the mainland (Florida) and ship it direct to this residence so I don't have to fly off the island with mine. I tasted metallic chemicals in my filtered water after using my new model with an all black plastic handle. It was so bad that I had to fill up the glacier's water machines during a month-long visit. I thought this is because mainland tap water is very dirty; However, after packing a new pitcher in my luggage and using it with this cleaner Maui tap water, I can still try these additives. I experimented with my OG filter (used for a month) and still gave it a try; I then used the new model filter in my OG wooden jug and tasted great again. This led me to believe I had a faulty jug, but there's no problem with the filter itself; the all black model sucks, so i'm keeping my current favorite wooden grip. Now I only wish I had bought this item that early before using it or I would have returned it. :(
