Be careful! Continue reading.

Caution! If you don't (or maybe won't) use a GFCI-protected outlet for power, then read on. The first thing that struck me when I received the device is that the power plug is not polarized. This is normal when the design of the product offers good electrical insulation under normal conditions, given the voltages present and the operating conditions (e.g. mobile phone charger), but in this case it is a big mistake. connected directly to the large (neutral) terminals of the triple output cable to which the heating elements are connected. That means if the controller is plugged in upside down (which cannot be visually detected) and the triple output gets wet or the heating element breaks etc. there is a risk of electrocution. To make matters worse, if the heater isn't on at the moment, the cracked heating element will give you 120VAC in the water and has no neutral return, meaning you could very well get a really hard electrocution if you hit the water touch. The pin of the plug is actually neutral, I noticed that the power and triple output cables have a ribbed side and a smooth side, so maybe they took care of that during production at least and maybe the ribbed side is on the neutral plug, because the is on the neutral side of the triple socket, but no, it's the other way around, at least on my device. The only way to find out which way is safer is to unplug and check for continuity between the large slots in the triple socket and each of the two prongs on the plug. The pin showing continuity should be wider to fit the wider slot in your outlet. If I were you I would do this test and plug it into a short extension cord (polarity correct) and tape it off like that or at least mark the plug in some way so you can clearly understand. and use a GFCI protected outlet. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the performance of the device so far. I like that it beeps when the temperature sensor is accidentally triggered. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the polarity issue above. Fahrenheit would be nice.
